![]() As I said, I’m looking for something that makes it into a new game, but thanks for the suggestion! It’s something I’ve been meaning to check out anyways. I’ve heard of the 25th anniversary hack before. Starmen’s hacking utilities has a few tools for the game, though, including a map editor, a text editor, and more! Definitely worth a look if you plan on hacking the game at all. All enemy graphics, NPC sprites and tiles are be redrawn from scratch to be more faithful to the clay models. This game has graphical and gameplay updates and its a complete English translation of the Japanese RPG Mother (Earthbound Zero / Beginnings) for GBA. EarthBound Beginnings is the official English title given to the 1989 Famicom title Mother, created by Shigesato Itoi and produced and published by Nintendo. That’s the most extensive hack of the game I can think of. This remaster aims to make Mother much more enjoyable for both Earthbound fans and those playing it for the first time. I realize that you said in the byline you didn’t want graphics/balance patches, and wanted a hack that turns it into another game, but unfortunately there aren’t any. Eventually, the English ROM was re-translated into Japanese and re-released on the GBA as part of the Japan-only compilation cart MOTHER 1+2. ![]() It was made by a user here on Starmen, DragonDePlatino, who’s no longer very active. If only it was the easier to get into GBA version you did. It’s not a hack that makes a new game, like the Halloween hack, but it’s essentially an updated version of the original game that redoes all the graphics, changes balancing, modifies areas, uses Tomato’s fan tanslated script of the GBA version of MOTHER, among other changes. For those asking, EarthBound Beginnings appears to just be the same old EarthBound Zero ROM. The best hack of MOTHER is the MOTHER 25th Anniversary Edition. ![]()
